History

The Elgin CFDC was formed in 1986 and was known at the time as the Elgin Local Employment Assistance and Development Corporation (LEAD). In 1996, Elgin LEAD amalgamated with the Elgin Community Futures Committee to create the ECFDC for assisting and encouraging job creation and community  economic development throughout Elgin County. In 2008, the organization underwent rebranding to become the Elgin Business Resource Centre (EBRC).
