SEB Program
Self-Employment Benefit (SEB) Program
EBRC administers the Ontario SEB Program to Elgin County entrepreneurs. This program is for individuals who are eligible or are receiving Employment Insurance (EI), or have received EI within the last three to five years and seek to start their own businesses. This community service program allows participants to continue receiving EI benefits while they get their businesses up and running.
The SEB Program is a true catalyst for a number of area entrepreneurs! Participants gain a solid foundation on which to build their businesses. Entrepreneurs attend workshops on business concepts, business plan writing, marketing, and more. EBRC counsellors provide valuable insight on taxes, insurance, and funding to put self-employed individuals on the right track for success.
And it’s working! Over 70% of our clients who started their businesses through the SEB program between 1998 – 2005 are still in business today.
